How it works
What is a silent disco?
A party where the music plays only in the guests' wireless headphones, also called a silent party or headphone party. Read the full guide.
How many DJs can play at once?
Up to three, one per channel. The headphone LED shows the colour of the chosen channel.
Can I use a playlist instead of a DJ?
Yes: connect a laptop, a tablet or a phone to the transmitter.
Do I need internet or an app?
No: transmitter and headphones talk to each other by radio, with no Wi-Fi and no app.
Can it be held outdoors?
Yes: on a beach, a lawn, a farm or a rooftop. Where there is no power, the TX-330 transmitter runs on its own battery.
Hire and shipping
How many headphones do I need?
Usually one per guest who wants to dance. We help you find the right number and the kit always includes spares.
When does the kit arrive?
One or two days before the event, with charged headphones, transmitters, chargers and instructions.
Where do you ship from?
From our European warehouses, with a dedicated express logistics service. Shipping times and customs paperwork for South Africa are agreed when we quote, so book well ahead.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, every hire requires a security deposit, returned once the kit is back and checked.
Do you organise the event or supply the DJ?
No: we hire out and sell the equipment, and you bring the DJ or the playlist. For large events our technicians can assist.
Prices
How much does a silent disco cost?
As a guide, a single event starts at €250–400 for 50 headphones, with shipping to South Africa and customs on top. All price bands are in the price guide.
Is the quote free?
Yes, free and with no obligation: a consultant calls you within 24 hours.
Headphones
How long does the battery last?
Up to 10 hours; a full charge takes about 4 hours. The headphones arrive charged.
What happens if there is load shedding?
The headphones keep playing on their own battery, and the TX-330 transmitter has a built-in battery. Use a laptop or phone as the source and the music carries on.
Are the headphones sanitised?
Yes, every headphone is cleaned and sanitised before each hire.
What brand are the headphones?
They are Silentsystem® headphones, designed by us, with registered trademarks and patents.
