Company functions usually happen in places that were not built for loud music: hotels with guests upstairs, conference centres with volume limits, office parks next to residential suburbs, wine estates hosting another function on the same night. A silent disco removes the problem at its source. The music lives in wireless headphones, so the evening can run as long as the programme allows while the building around it stays calm.

It is also a strong engagement tool. The year-end function, a conference after-party, a product launch with a DJ set, a team-building weekend at a lodge: glowing headphones break the ice between colleagues from different floors and provinces, and three channels let every team find its own sound. Year-end functions cluster in November and December, so it pays to book well in advance. For larger events we offer rental with assistance, covering delivery, set-up and technicians on the night, while your agency or events team keeps full control of the show.

Why it works

Why silent disco corporate events work

Fits the venue's rules

Hotels, conference centres, museums and office parks allow far more when the music stays in the headphones.

Team building without forced games

Channel battles and colour-coded teams bring departments together naturally, from finance to the sales floor.

Three dance floors in one room

Up to three DJs or genres at once, so the CEO and the newest intern both enjoy the night.

Networking still works

Guests drop their headphones to talk business and put them back on to dance, with no shouting across the bar.

Content for your channels

Coloured LEDs make striking photos and video for internal comms, LinkedIn and the company's social pages.

Assistance on request

For large audiences, rental with assistance adds delivery, set-up and technicians who stay for the event.

How it works

How a corporate silent disco comes together

1

Send us the brief

Date, venue, number of guests and the format of the evening. A consultant comes back within 24 hours with a proposal, including the shipping and customs timeline.

2

Plan sound and logistics

We define channels, transmitters, headphone numbers and delivery. Your production company or DJ gets the technical details well ahead of the date.

3

Run the evening

Headphones go out at a dedicated desk; transmitters connect to the DJ booth or the AV system. Technicians can stay on site if you need them.

Configuring headphones for a company function

For a corporate party, plan headphones for roughly 70–90% of attendees, since some will be networking and some will be at the bar. A year-end gala for 300 usually needs about 250 headphones; a conference after-party for 500 may need fewer if it runs late.

  • Channels: three for the classic DJ battle; one channel can also carry speeches or a presentation in a breakaway room.
  • Transmitters: the TX-500 covers large halls and outdoor areas; the TX-350 is the reliable choice for multi-channel set-ups.
  • Indicative prices: up to 200 headphones €850–1,000, up to 500 €1,700–2,000, up to 1,000 €2,900–4,000. Freight to South Africa and customs are costed separately.
  • Several dates? For roadshows across provinces or recurring events, the tailor-made formula optimises the price over at least three events.

Tips for a successful company silent disco

  • Brand the channels: name each one after a team, a product or a company value.
  • Plan the handout: a desk at the entrance with staff explaining the colours keeps queues short.
  • Speeches first: run the MD's speech and the awards on the venue's speakers, then switch to headphones for the party.
  • Long evenings: headphones last up to 10 hours, comfortably covering a function that starts with sundowners and ends after midnight.
  • Backup power: if the venue's generator is limited, the battery-powered TX-330 and the headphones' own batteries keep the floor going through a power cut.
  • Easy returns: return bins at every exit make the end of the night quick for your staff.

Silent disco also adapts to the rhythm of a business day. At a conference in Johannesburg or Cape Town, headphones can carry parallel sessions or workshops in an open-plan space; in the evening the same kit becomes the party. For incentive trips to a lodge or a wine estate, we ship the system from our European warehouses so it is waiting one or two days before your guests arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about: corporate events

Can you handle functions with hundreds of guests?

Yes. Up to 5,000 headphones are available for South Africa, and for large audiences rental with assistance adds technicians for set-up and support during the evening.

Do you work with event agencies and production companies?

Yes. Many of our clients are agencies and production houses. We supply the equipment and technical support; the creative direction stays with you.

Can the headphones be used for presentations too?

Yes. One channel can carry a presenter's microphone or a video soundtrack, which helps in noisy or shared spaces.

How is the price worked out?

Mainly on the number of headphones, the duration, the channels and any on-site assistance. Shipping to South Africa and customs are added separately, and the quote is free.

How far ahead should we book a year-end function?

As early as you can, especially for large numbers and for November and December dates. Shipping times and customs paperwork for South Africa are agreed when we quote.
