Silent disco party hire: celebrate at home and dance till late

Silent disco party hire turns a garden, a patio or a lounge into a dance floor without a word of complaint from next door. Loud in the headphones, quiet over the wall.

In South Africa the best parties often happen at home: a 21st in the garden, a braai that turns into a dance, a fortieth around the pool, a family get-together nobody wants to end. The trouble is usually on the other side of the wall. Estates, complexes and suburbs all have neighbours, and body corporate rules or an irritated knock on the gate can switch the music off long before your guests are ready. A silent disco moves the sound into wireless headphones: the beat stays big inside the party, while the street hears voices and the occasional singalong.

It works for every age and every kind of crowd. A sixteenth, a matric farewell after-party, a 50th with old school friends, a bachelor's or bachelorette weekend in a rented house in Hermanus: you choose the music, up to three channels at once, and each guest picks their own. The kit arrives charged, with spare headphones and clear instructions, so on the day you only need to plug in a phone or laptop. New to the idea? Start with what a silent disco is.

Why it works

Why a silent disco suits a house party

Good for neighbourly peace

Gardens, patios and townhouse complexes stay calm from the outside, so the party can run well past the hour when the music would normally come down.

Three playlists, no aux wars

Throwbacks on one channel, amapiano or gqom on another, rock on the third. Nobody has to fight for control of the speaker.

From kids to grandparents

Children, parents and grandparents share the same celebration, each with their own music and volume.

An instant icebreaker

Headphones glowing in different colours get guests comparing channels and laughing together from the first song.

Easy conversation

Slip the headphones around your neck and talk at a normal volume; the braai area stays as sociable as ever.

Quick to set up

No speaker stacks to lug around or cables across the lawn. A transmitter, a phone or laptop and the headphones are all you need.

How it works

Silent disco party hire in three steps

1

Share the date and the numbers

Use the quote form to tell us the date, the place and how many people will dance. A consultant calls back within a day to confirm the kit and the shipping time.

2

Sort out the music

Build one playlist per channel, or ask a friend who DJs to plug a controller into the transmitter. XLR and RCA inputs connect to almost anything.

3

Switch on and hand out

Turn on the transmitter, give out the headphones and explain the colours. Each guest controls volume and channel on their own pair.

How many headphones for a party at home?

Count the people who will really dance, not the full invite list. For a garden party of 40, around 30–40 headphones usually do the job; for a 21st with 80 guests, a kit of 50–100 covers the floor comfortably.

  • Channels: two channels already lift the mood; three mean everyone finds their sound.
  • Transmitter: the TX-330 runs on a built-in battery, ideal for a patio, a farm dam or a beach without plugs; the TX-350 handles multi-channel set-ups indoors.
  • Indicative prices: up to 50 headphones €250–400, up to 100 €450–700, with shipping to South Africa and customs on a separate line of the quote.
  • What is included: charged headphones, transmitters, chargers and spares. A security deposit is returned once the kit is back and checked.

Tips for a silent disco party at home

  • Label the channels: a small board with the colour and genre of each channel saves you answering the same question all night.
  • Plan the playlists: three or four hours per channel is enough; mix the songs everyone knows with a few surprises.
  • Channel battle: two friends DJing on two colours, with guests voting through their headphones, works every time.
  • Lighting: fairy lights or dimmed garden lights make the LEDs stand out and turn the lawn into a club.
  • Ready for load shedding: with a phone or laptop as the source, the TX-330 and the headphones run on their own batteries if the lights go out.
  • Collect at the gate: a box by the exit brings every headphone back before people head home.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about: private parties & birthdays

How much does silent disco party hire cost?

As an indicative guide, up to 50 headphones cost €250–400 and up to 100 headphones €450–700 for a single event. The final figure depends on the date, the number of channels and shipping to your address.

Can I use my phone instead of a DJ?

Yes. Connect a phone, tablet or laptop to the transmitter. With three channels you can run three playlists at the same time.

Is it suitable for kids' parties?

Yes. Every headphone has its own volume control, so you can keep levels comfortable for younger guests. Small children should always be supervised.

Does it work outdoors at night?

Yes. The signal reaches up to 500 metres and the batteries last up to 10 hours. For spots without power there is the TX-330 transmitter with a built-in battery.

Do you organise the party for me?

No. We rent and sell the equipment; the party, the music and the venue are yours. We help you choose the right kit and stay available by phone and WhatsApp on +39 338 155 5535.
